If you’re an angler excited for the next big catch, finding the elusive muskellunge or even just looking for a serene location to relax and unwind, Piedmont Lake should be at the top of your list of places to visit. Located in the corner of southeast Ohio, situated among steep hills and wooded valleys in the small town of Freeport, the lake offers some of the best fishing in the state.

Over the last few years, the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) has made a number of improvements in and around the marina located at 32281 Marina Road to better serve guests and improve water quality.

In 2014, construction was completed to improve the shoreline around the marina adding a sidewalk and upgraded lighting, in addition to a new parking area and launch ramp.

In 2016, the marina was certified as a Clean Marina which was achieved by completing a series of requirements including fuel management, sewage handling, storm water runoff and facilities management, to name a few.

The most recent improvements were to the marina building including:

  • ADA Accessible restrooms
  • New deck and outdoor dining area overlooking the lake
  • Completely renovated interior and retail and bait sales area
  • Improved fuel system to protect water quality and better serve guests with high quality, ethanol free fuel

Guests are welcome to visit the marina and check out the views for themselves. The summer marina hours are Monday-Wednesday 7am-5pm and Thursday-Sunday 7am-7pm. The lunch counter is open Thursday-Sunday 8am-6pm.
